Located in Thousand Oaks, California, the Conejo Players Theater is one of the most historic venues in Southern California. Founded in 1958, the theatre is a nonprofit community theater that relies on donations and volunteers to operate. With a seating capacity of 150 to 200, the theatre offers a variety of shows throughout the year. The venue is also home to an education series. The Conejo Players is a part of the Four Star Theater Alliance, which includes the Santa Paula Theater Center and the Camarillo Skyway Playhouse. The group also includes the Ojai Art Center Theater. They provide performances and educational opportunities for children and adults of all ages.


The Conejo Players has been offering world-class shows for decades. In 2019, the organization will be celebrating 60 years of producing excellent theater. The theater also features a lineup of live and virtual performances. The upcoming summer season will include the musical "Beauty and the Beast" and the play "Rumors." The theatre also presents "9 to 5: The Musical," which is based on the hit movie. It's the story of two young idealistic lovers who must overcome the gangs of a city to be together.


The theatre is also home to the Drive-In Movie Series, which hosts screenings of movies. Some of the best films of the past decade are currently being shown. There's even a Carpool Jam concert with Corazon de Mana. You can also order a burger or pizza from The Local Peasant.


If you're into comedy, you'll love "Wait Until Dark," starring Lindsay Lohan. The musical is a raunter comedy that will play on the Conejo Players Theater stage. Performing the music of the GNR, Lose Your Illusion will take you back in time. The play also features the biggest hits from the GNR, including "Danger Zone," "The Fly," and "Motherless Children." The musical will run Thursdays through Sundays through February 19.


The Conejo Players also has a youth program called Young Artists Ensemble. In addition to a series of theatrical performances, this program teaches young children how to act, sing, and dance. They will be presenting a virtual production based on the children's book "The Trip" by Ezra Jack Keats. A big screen will be used for the performance, and a cast of seven youngsters from the Young Artists Ensemble Hillcrest Players Broadway Musical Camp will be performing the songs of Stephen Schwartz.


While the Conejo Players Theatre is a small community theater, it has a lot of great shows on the schedule. The group is also part of the Four Star Theater Alliance, which is comprised of a number of theaters in the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles.
